Why You Should Be Using Toner
Toner is the secret to bomb skin.
It’s the truth & now it’s out there.
Even with its water base, skin toner is often found to be infused with skin-hugging ingredients. Think things like tea tree and aloe, antioxidants and acids.
The whole purpose of toner is to remove the impurities from your face and leave with you a fresh canvas before treatment products are applied.
Toner has the responsibility of prepping your skin without stripping it of moisture and without assaulting your skin's natural barrier.
It is more aimed at adding a bit of hydration and removing dead skin cells.
You use skin toner to get rid of anything that is stuck in your pores after washing your face. That is toner’s job. It is because of this lofty task that with consistent use you can actually tighten your pores (hello to those concerned about aging skin).
Bonus is your skin’s pH level and skin tone will also improve.
Even more important is that when you purify your pores before you put on any products aimed at treatment or to address specific issues, you’re giving those ingredients a fighting chance to actually penetrate your skin.
Toner puts your skin back into its natural state - think of putting oil or serum on a dry cloth. When you do that, not much happens. But if that cloth is wet first, the serum will absorb into the pockets and mix with the preexisting moisture.
Have I convinced you to add toner to your routine yet? I hope so.
A few things to remember when choosing a toner:
Go alcohol free. (my kind of dry month)
Watch for butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane.
Avoid fragrance.
