How To Live A More Non-Toxic Life
Non-toxic living is more than some buzzword meant for rich, yoga-pants wearing stay-at-home mothers.
In fact for the Black community, non-toxic living is urgent and important due to the disparity of environmental exposures and beauty related chemical levels found in our bodies.
You might still be asking why it matters. I get that. I mean, why does trying to aim for a non-toxic lifestyle matter?
A few reasons:
For your gut health - which is the second brain in the body
Immunity boost and stability
Reduction of inflammation
Improvement in and reliable energy
Lower levels of stress
Reduce your risk of developing cancer
Listen. Making decisions to move towards a less toxic life is a baby step process. It is not something that happens overnight. And that is more than okay.
You can start with one product.
One area of your life.
You can start by replacing products that run out with a safer alternative next time.
Small steps matter when they are being made in the right direction and for the right reasons.
The truth is many chronic diseases - especially the ones that have high numbers in the Black community - have links to toxic chemical exposures.
With that being said, the good news is that we do have some control.
Here are some areas you can focus on improving in an effort to lead a less toxic lifestyle:
Change out your tupperware to: BPA Free, bamboo, glass, or stainless steel
Make safer decisions when choosing (or making) your cleaning products
Choose safer and cleaner skincare products
Avoid products that have fragrance listed as an ingredient
Switch out any non-stick cookware you have to stainless steel or cast iron
Take the time to combat negative & diminishing thoughts you have, and replace them with fact-based, positive affirmations
To be successful at anything, we have to understand it is our intentions & our habits that indicate if we will in fact find success.
Share this with someone you want to take this journey with & together decide where to start.
We’re rooting for you.
